I wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts as I approach a year of producing content here. I started WPS News on April 6, 2024, and the Occupy 2.5 initiative dates back to June 15, 2023, when I was still in the USA.
While I am passionate about this work, the response from the public has not been as enthusiastic as I had hoped, and I find myself feeling quite fatigued. The blogosphere is overflowing with information, and I aim to add value with what I offer. However, when my efforts seem to go unnoticed and are not being shared, it can be quite disheartening.
I could step back from writing today, and it seems likely that it wouldn’t make much of a difference until August, when the feed ceases. The content I have provided is filled with insights and information on the defense of democracy and naval resistance on the high seas. I believe I have done my job well, yet I find myself lacking recognition, support, and compensation for my efforts.
I retired for a reason, and what once felt enjoyable and creative is beginning to feel too much like a job. While I take joy in creating, I must recognize that enjoyment alone may not be enough to continue at the current pace. My intention is not to draw attention to myself, but rather to express my need to slow down a bit.
I appreciate your understanding, and I hope to continue to contribute meaningfully while finding a balance that feels more sustainable.
