So now Elon Musk wants to save America. Again.

This time, he’s floating the idea of a “new political party” on X (what we used to call Twitter, before he stapled his brand onto it like a toddler with a label maker). On July 5, at precisely 09:11 Eastern Time—because nothing Elon does is ever accidental—he posted, “We need a party that represents the 80% in the middle.”

Let’s skip the usual genuflecting and call it what it is: horseshit.

Elon Musk isn’t in the middle of anything, except maybe a slow-motion collision with his own ego. The man who endorsed Ron DeSantis, spread COVID misinformation, said trans people shouldn’t exist, and hired literal fascists to moderate content on X is not a centrist. He’s a far-right authoritarian cosplaying as a libertarian tech savior. And this new “America Party” stunt? It’s another shell game, another manipulation of a public too exhausted and too cornered to call it out for what it is: a fascist dog whistle wrapped in libertarian bullshit.

This country doesn’t need another rich man’s vanity party. What it needs is fewer billionaires trying to play Founding Father while dodging taxes and choking unions. Musk is selling a fantasy of rational centrism, as if there’s a magic Goldilocks zone between book bans and climate denial where the future is built on Mars colonies and Neuralinks. There isn’t. That middle doesn’t exist.

The real 80%? They’re working two jobs, losing their homes, drowning in medical debt, and praying their kids don’t end up in a school shooting. And Musk? He’s out here saluting with one arm like a Roman senator, pretending he doesn’t know it’s a fascist tell. You think it’s an accident that his “solution” always involves fewer rights, more tech, and a boss who never answers to anyone? It’s the same old scam: privatize power, neuter democracy, call it “disruption.”

You don’t need to squint to see what he’s building. It’s not new. It’s not bold. It’s not centrist. It’s the same authoritarian impulse that has always haunted civilization—this time with rocket fuel.

And let’s not forget: the man is allergic to actual accountability. When the labor board went after Tesla, he mocked them. When journalists reported the truth, he banned them. When people asked him to take responsibility for the hate speech and Nazi memes flooding X, he doubled down and blamed “the woke mind virus.”

This “America Party” is not a political movement. It’s a decoy. A grift. A narcissist’s distraction from the collapse he’s helping to accelerate.

So let’s stop pretending. Elon Musk isn’t trying to save democracy. He’s trying to replace it—with something colder, crueler, and controlled by guys who wear Roman armor in their wet dreams.
