The fascists have stolen the word “patriot” and wrapped themselves in it like a costume. They chant it, sell it, cosplay it with flags on their backs and lies in their mouths. But let’s be clear: that’s not patriotism. That’s performance.
Real patriotism is harder, uglier, and more honest. It isn’t obedience to a corrupt state or loyalty to a failed Republic. It isn’t pledging allegiance to myths while ignoring neighbors in need. Real patriotism is dissent when the country goes wrong. It’s abolitionists fighting slavery. It’s unionists standing against robber barons. It’s civil rights marchers facing batons and tear gas. It’s Vietnam vets throwing their medals back at Congress.
For me, patriotism isn’t about serving the Republic that betrayed me in 1998 and left me in poverty. I don’t owe that machine a damn thing. My patriotism is a crowbar — prying open the lies of “freedom” and “justice” and demanding that America live up to its own promises.
That’s why this is a one-man war. Not for a broken state, but against the assholes and bullies who think they own it. Not for cosplay, but for the America that still might be dragged out of the dirt if enough people stand up.
They can smear, slander, or ignore me. Doesn’t matter. Because when I say I fight because I love this place enough to not let you kill it, their fraud is exposed.
Patriotism isn’t cosplay. Patriotism is resistance. And if you can’t tell the difference, you’ve already surrendered.
